Interest Rates Start to Take Their Toll

Just the facts, in my opinion

In market news:
- Single-family home inventory dipped slightly from 868 to 849, the first dip in 6 months.
- Days on market for August were at 17 days. August 2021 was at 18 days for comparison.
- Average sales price for August was 820K, down from 826K in July. August 2021 was at 693K.
- Median sales price for August was 575K, up from 566K in July. August 2021 was at 515K.
- Sales pace is slower again. 21% down from August 2021 and 17% lower in total for the year so far compared to 2021. This slower pace has been the trend since July 2021.
- August saw the sales price below the asking price at 97.3% of the list price. Down from 99.4% in July.
